Frequently asked questions

Can an officer open the holster without starting the cameras?

No. Signal starts cameras on every holster opening. Officers who adjust their holster often will see more short recordings, and so will their supervisor.

Why did my camera start in the restroom?

Signal does not know where it is. A holster opened in a restroom is recorded like any other. Agencies using Restroom Mode on Sentry 4 Pro can map restroom areas to prevent this.

Does Signal work off duty?

Signal can be fitted to an off-duty holster. Off-duty recordings are saved to the officer’s personal folder in Dendrix Evidence, which is visible to the agency.

What if an officer removes the sensor?

Signal reports its own removal. The report reaches the officer’s supervisor within one shift.
