Common questions

I can't find a recording.

No footage found. This may be expected. Check the retention category for the recording and the date it was captured. If the recording should be available, contact your records unit.

The recording is shorter than the incident.

Recording durations may differ from incident durations. This can be caused by activation timing, buffer settings, Quiet Mode, battery state or a metadata display inconsistency.

The camera came off during the incident.

Sentry mounts are rated for foot pursuits, vehicle exits and use of force. Mount release events are written to the device log.‡ Your agency may ask about them.

Can I view footage of a family member?

Footage access is limited to authorized users with a work-related purpose. Every view is logged, and reviewed if your agency has turned on view review.§

My lens was covered.

Lens obstruction is detected and noted on the recording timeline. Notes are visible to supervisors with review access. Sentry cannot detect what covered the lens.
