The challenge
Rangers patrol remote terrain where incidents are rare, brief and difficult to explain afterwards. Written reports were often the only record.
The approach
Sentry cameras with a two-minute pre-event buffer capture the moments before a ranger reacts. Dashline records continuously on trailhead patrols. Skyline provides aerial views of areas rangers cannot reach on foot.
The result
Rangers now attach footage to every incident report. Some recordings have been retained beyond the standard period at the request of other agencies‡.
